Desmond Fatality Inquiry resumes Tuesday

The inquiry called after Afghanistan war veteran Lionel Desmond killed his wife, daughter, mother and then himself in their Upper Big Tracadie home in 2017 resumes Feb 16.

The Desmond Fatality Inquiry has moved to Port Hawkesbury.

In a release from judiciary communications, officials say the original location at the Guysborough municipal building couldn’t abide by COVID-19 rules.

It also says, because of the pandemic, anyone not invited must get advance permission from Judge Warren Zimmer to attend.

Proceedings are set to run Tuesday through Friday for four weeks.
