Several downtown streets closed during New Glasgow fire

No one was hurt in a fire in New Glasgow.

The fire at the corner of MacLean St. and Provost St. was reported at roughly 7 a.m. Sunday.

New Glasgow Regional Police say their officers, paramedics, and members of the New Glasgow, Stellarton and Trenton fire departments all responded.

They say the business-apartment complex suffered extensive smoke and fire damage.

Police say a woman was safely evacuated from a bottom floor apartment.

They say several streets in downtown New Glasgow were closed while they fought the fire.
