Woman arrested after Richmond Co. house fire

A 34-year-old Richmond Co. woman was arrested after a house fire.

Richmond District RCMP say at 7:45 p.m. Thursday they responded to a house fire on Hwy. 206 in West Arichat.

Police quickly learned the home had been set on fire deliberately, while two people were still inside.

The two managed to escape and no injuries were sustained but the house was a total loss and burned to the ground.

Santana Maria LeBlanc of West Arichat has been charged with Arson – Disregard for Human Life and appeared in Port Hawkesbury Provincial court this morning.
