One dead in Antigonish Co. crash

One person is dead after a crash involving four vehicles.

Antigonish RCMP say the Linwood crash took place around 9:45 a.m. on Wednesday.

Police, fire and EHS attended the scene and found that a grey car stopped on Hwy. 104 because of construction.

A station wagon did not slow down for the stopped traffic and rear-ended an SUV.

Four vehicles were involved and suffered significant damage as a result.

Five people suffered minor injuries, two suffered serious injuries and one was pronounced dead on route to the hospital by ambulance.

A collision reconstructionist attended the scene, and the investigation is ongoing.

Speed is believed to be a factor.
