The case for the subject of a weeklong manhunt has been adjourned.
47-year-old Darcy Doyle, from Mira Gut, stands charged with abduction of a person under the age of 16 and two counts of resisting a peace officer.
RCMP say Doyle took a 14-year-old girl from Eskasoni Mi’Kmaw Nation on Aug. 13. He stayed on the run with the girl for over a week, until Aug. 22.
The matter was put over in Sydney Provincial Court Wednesday.
He remains in custody and is scheduled to return to court on the Sept. 16.
