Al MacInnis Sports Centre to get new roof, upgrades

An arena in Inverness County is getting a new roof.

MLA Allan MacMaster says over half-a-million dollars will be given to the Al MacInnis Sports Centre in Port Hood.

It will help with the roof, parking lot paving, a generator and new sound system.

MacMaster says the centre brings a lot of joy and activity to the community, and is a central place for youth hockey and events.

It’s named after local hockey legend Al MacInnis, who played 23 years in the NHL, winning a Stanley Cup with the Calgary Flames.
