Antigonish Co. outage closes school

A power outage in Antigonish Co. could leave about 16-hundred homes and businesses without power until tomorrow.

The outage comes as a storm makes landfall on the province.

NS Power reports power out from Lower South River east to Monastery.

They say they’re investigating the cause, but the restoration estimate is Friday at 11 a.m.

Two Strait Regional Centre for Education schools have let out early: East Antigonish Education Centre/Academy students headed home at 12:30 p.m. because of the outage; and Cape Breton Highlands Education Centre/Academy students went home at 11:30 a.m. due to high winds.
