Antigonish County Accessibility Plan

The Accessible Antigonish County Plan outlining their accessibility goals was presented at last night’s council meeting.

The presentation discussed their completed accessibility projects along with their plans to create more accommodations for people with disabilities down the road.

The plan will soon be available on the county’s website for people to look at and residents are invited to submit their feedback on the plan and give ideas on how the county can make accessibility improvements.

One of these initiatives is the installation of mobi mats at Pomquet Beach and Cape Jack Beach for people in wheelchairs, allowing them to access the beaches.

The county hopes to have their accessibility plans completed by 2025
