A man from Antigonish Co. has been charged in relation to a fatal crash in Porter’s Lake.
RCMP say the fatal two-car collision happened on Hwy. 107 in Jan. 2018.
They say the 49-year-old driver of one car died; two other people were injured.
Police say their investigation determined the safety inspection on one of the vehicles had been improperly completed, and the person who inspected the vehicle was the subject of another incident involving an improper inspection that same month.
Chet Bernard Chisholm, 45, of Lakevale has been charged with four counts- criminal negligence causing death, two counts of criminal negligence causing bodily harm, and breach of trust.
Chisholm was arrested, charged and appeared in Antigonish Provincial Court Wednesday; he was released on conditions, including no contact with several individuals and not performing motor vehicle inspections.
He’s scheduled to return to court March 13.
