Avoid the Delays: Major Road Work Across the Quad Counties This Summer

It’s been said there are 5 seasons in Nova Scotia Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall and construction. I don’t know who says that but I do! Here are some of the biggest construction spots to look out for this summer.

Highway 344 (Aulds Cove)
Location: Route 344, south of Highway 104 to Loggie Street
Work: Road repairs and construction (alternating lane closures)
When: June 8 to September 30, 2026
Schedule: Active daily (Monday–Sunday, all day)

Highway 105 (Inverness County)
Location: Highway 105 from 160m west of MacKeigans Lane to 6.3km east
Work: Road repairs and construction (one lane traffic)
When: May 25 to July 31, 2026
Schedule: Mon–Thu 6:00am–8:00pm, Fri 6:00am–12:00pm, Sat–Sun no work

Cabot Trail (Chéticamp)
Location: Cabot Trail near Chemin Chéticamp Campground (85–92 km)
Work: Road repairs and construction (single lane closure)
When: May 1 to September 25, 2026
Schedule: Active daily (Monday–Sunday, all day)
