Police say a man who was barricaded in Victoria Co. has been taken into custody.
They said officers responded to a home on Old Rte. 5, which is near Big Bras d’Or, in a tweet sent just after 7 p.m. Tuesday.
RCMP said they weren’t sure if he was armed, but no one else was inside the home; neighbouring residents were evacuated, and Old Rte. 5 was closed in that area.
Their second update on Twitter was to say officers were still on scene two-and-a-half hours later.
Police said the man was taken into custody in the early morning hours in their latest tweet at 6:45 a.m. Wednesday.
They say the road has since re-opened.
