A teen arrested for driving 56 kilometres above the posted speed limit in Port Hawkesbury has been sentenced.
RCMP say they stopped a driver travelling 106 km/h in a 50 km/h zone on Reeves St. just before 2 a.m. one Sunday in December.
They say he sped through a red light and almost hit a police cruiser.
Police say they charged the teen with stunting, operating a motor vehicle under the age of 16, and failing to stop at a red light.
He was sentenced to 70 hours of community service to be completed in six months when he made his first appearance in the case in youth court in Port Hawkesbury Monday.
