Bulldogs face expansion Eagles in opening game

The Antigonish Bulldogs start a brand new Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League season against a brand new team.

The Bulldogs host the Eskasoni Eagles in their 2018-19 season opener.

It’s the Eagles’ first season in the league.

Dave Synishin, Antigonish’s head coach, tells The Hawk there are a lot of new faces on this Bulldogs team.

“We ended up losing about 14 (players) from (2017-18), but I think what we added, we’re certainly making up for that,” he says. “I think our strength will be up front, but having said that, you don’t win unless you’re playing on the defensive side of the puck, so that’s something we’ll have to work on continually.”

Puck drop at the Antigonish Arena is 7:30 p.m.
