Case of Inverness stabbing suspect adjourned

A man charged in a stabbing in Inverness Co. is expected back in court in February.

RCMP say a man, 38, suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries when he was stabbed following an argument in Inverness in August.

They say Francis Xavier Forance, 54, turned himself in shortly after the incident.

Forance faces aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, and possession of a weapon counts.

His case was in Port Hawkesbury Provincial Court Tuesday; he’s scheduled to return for an election-and-plea hearing Feb. 22.
