Cineplex Adds Online Ticket Fee For Buyers

Seems like Cineplex is trying to make up for two years of lost revenue.

Moviegoers will now pay $1.50 when buying movie tickets online or through the app.

The company has said the fee is “to further invest and evolve our digital infrastructure.”, but there is some reprieve from the small fee.

If you’re using Scene points to buy a ticket, it’s only a $1, but if buying them at the theatre there’s no fee at all. That includes buying them at the box office, at the concession stands, or through the ticket kiosks.

For those that subscribe to Cineplex’s monthly program CineClub, there is no fee at all.
