A man is in custody following a standoff in Colchester Co.
RCMP said they responded to a call of a barricaded man in a home in Great Village in a Twitter post shortly after 7 p.m. Tuesday.
They said it was unknown if the man was armed, but they asked residents to stay inside and avoid the area.
Members of the emergency response team and a negotiator were called in.
Another tweet indicated the man was in custody and getting checked by medics just before 10 p.m.

Colchester RCMP say the suspect in a nearly three-hour standoff assaulted a police officer before barricading himself inside a home.
Police say an officer responded to a call Tuesday when he was attacked.
They say the man struck the officer several times, the officer tried his taser, which didn’t work.
Police say the man then tried to take the taser and officer’s pistol before threatening to shoot the officer and retreating to a home.
RCMP say the officer was treated for serious but non-life-threatening injuries, no one else was injured.
The man surrendered to police after the standoff.
The 49-year-old from Great Village has been released and is charged with uttering threats, assaulting a police officer, and obstruction.
