Collision claims two lives

Two Inverness County men have died in a single vehicle collision in Antigonish County.

RCMP say a small car left Highway 4 in Linwood just before 7pm Sunday evening, rolled, and a struck a tree.

They say two men in the front seat of the vehicle, a 23-year-old from Port Hastings and a 27-year-old from Troy died at the scene.

RCMP say a 19-year-old woman who was in the back seat was removed by emergency personnel and air lifted to hospital with serious but non life-threatening injuries.

They say the car sustained heavy damage which resulted in police and emergency personnel being on scene for several hours while Highway 4 was closed.

An RCMP Traffic Analyst was called to assist with the investigation which is ongoing.
