Community member speaks up about possible bylaw changes

The warden of Inverness Co. says a community member believes there could be some changes to subdivision bylaws.

Joe Janega presented to councillors at their regular municipal council meeting Monday.

Betty Ann MacQuarrie says it was about the expanding of lot availability along the Celtic Shores Coastal Trail, and Janega was looking at ways for people to hand lots down or sell them within a family.

After the meeting, MacQuarrie told The Hawk there’s concern about what things will look like down the road.

“He feels that it is hampering future residential development along the, pretty much Ceilidh Trail in Inverness Co.,” she said. “As far as Inverness I believe, where it doesn’t go along the coast in Inverness.”

MacQuarrie said some municipal officials will be attending a workshop to explore options and learn more about current regulations next week.
