Could the Acadian Flag Be the Next Official Emoji?

Saturday was National Acadian Heritage Day! A day to celebrate, remember, and learn about Acadian culture. There are many Acadians all around the world, and of course right here in Nova Scotia! There are an estimated 300,000 to 500,000 Acadians worldwide.

Two friends from Moncton are asking people to sign a petition to help promote Acadian pride and exposure.

Alexis Belliveau and his friend Julien Robichaud have released a petition to include the Acadian flag emoji on phone keyboards. This would help Acadians and whoever else wanted to show their Acadian pride on social media or text messages.

Unicode is the non profit that apparently looks at emoji submissions and the two guys are going to send the petition to them later in the year apparently!
