The warden and councillors for the District of Saint Mary’s are extending their condolences following the death of Deputy Warden Jacqueline Dort.
Dort was first elected to represent Goshen & Area in 2001 and served as deputy warden since 2016.
She maintained both roles until her death.
A release from council says Dort was a strong voice and mentor and will be greatly missed.
A moment of silence will be held at August’s regular council meeting to mark her service.
Her seat will remain vacant until October’s municipal election.
