EDPC partnership going well- mayor

Antigonish‘s mayor says their involvement with the Eastern District Planning Commission has been going very well.

Laurie Boucher signed a three-year commitment in June; the town officially become part of the commission in July.

After January’s regular town council meeting Tuesday night, Boucher said the arrangement has been working out well.

“We have a couple of new developments coming to town,” she said. “Everything seems to be nice and clear- our building inspector is the same one as the county uses, so there’s no discrepancy between if you’re building in the town or the county.”

Boucher said their municipal planning strategy will help planning commission staff members once its in place and updated.
