A local hockey player has cracked the final rankings for NHL Central Scouting ahead of the 2019 NHL entry draft.
River Denys’ Colten Ellis is the top-ranked goaltender from the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, and is eighth among all draft-eligible goalies playing in North America.
Ellis has helped lead the Rimouski Oceanic to the third round of the QMJHL playoffs; they open their next series in Rouyn-Noranda Friday night.
The NHL entry draft takes place in Vancouver June 21-22.
