Esso outlet to be anchor tenant of Paq’tnkek commercial development

Officials with the Paq’tnkek First Nation in Antigonish Co. have announced an anchor tenant for their $8-million commercial development as part of the highway interchange project in the community.

They says reps with Wilson Fuel and Calgary-based Husky Energy will team up for a 24-hour Esso-branded outlet at the Bayside Travel Centre.

The centre, which is currently under construction, will also include two quick-service restaurants with drive-thru service, a band-owned and operated convenience store, truckers’ lounge and electric charging station.

The band’s current gaming facility will be relocated adjacent to the centre.

The new travel centre is expected to open in the summer of 2019.
