Why? “Sources” say they want to be clear they are more than a social media site. The rumors mention the “metaverse“
Apparently, that has to do with combining virtual and augmented reality technologies in a new online platform. From what I understand, it would be an online space where people have avatars & can walk around and interact with one another in real time. I must say, the thought of some Facebook comment sections coming to “life” is nightmare fuel, but ok.
Last week, it was announced that 10,000 people in Europe were being hired to work on this idea.
