Officials with the federal government are providing close to $250,000 for the province’s aquaculture industry.
Rodger Cuzner, the MP for Cape Breton-Canso, announced the funding through the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency in Petit-de-Grat Tuesday.
The money is for members of the Aquaculture Association of Nova Scotia as they determine the viability of a seaweed aquaculture industry.
They’ll conduct three years of on-site trials at three sea farms, including Premium Seafoods in Arichat, and explore market opportunities for products they develop.
