Members of a cycling group say they want your feedback on what it’s like to bike in Port Hawkesbury.
There’s a public meeting to get feedback on turning the town into a provincial cycling hub Wednesday.
Alison Carlyle, the Blue Route development and advocacy director for Bicycle Nova Scotia, told The Hawk Morning Show they want to add the town to the proposed 3000-kilometre, province-wide Blue Route cycling network.
“We want all types of people to come out,” she said. “Come out and tell us where you cycle, where you would like to cycle, what you would like to see to make you able to cycle to your everyday destinations in Port Hawkesbury.”
Carlyle said community feedback is key.
She said they also want to get ideas from residents about possible tourist highlights.
“(We want to know) where visitors might want to go- what they kind of want to show off in their town to people who might be coming through on the Blue Route.”
Carlyle said this is a planning session- only 500 kilometres of the Blue Route has been completed so far, and they don’t know exactly how it will connect through the town.
The session at the Port Hawkesbury Civic Centre runs from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
