Fire forces family from Antigonish home

A family of four has been displaced by a fire in Antigonish.

The fire on Court St. was reported at roughly 4 a.m. Tuesday.

Officials with the Canadian Red Cross say the one-and-a-half storey house, which a couple and their two children rented, was heavily damaged.

They say they’re helping family members with emergency lodging and funds for clothing, food and other essentials.

Main St. is closed between Church St. and Elm St. while firefighters clean up the scene.
