Flames release MacDonald from PTO

A local hockey player has been released from his professional tryout contract with the Calgary Flames.

Judique’s Andrew MacDonald, who was competing for a spot on the Flames’ blueline during training camp, was released Tuesday; that means he’s now a free agent.

The Philadelphia Flyers put MacDonald on waivers and bought out the final year of his contract in June.
