Richmond Co.‘s former chief administrative officer has filed a wrongful dismissal lawsuit.
Kent MacIntyre was fired following a 3-2 vote of councillors at an April meeting, with performance, communication and mishandling of a municipal sundry account given as reasons at the time.
He filed a statement of claim against the municipality and the three councillors who voted to dismiss him in Nova Scotia Supreme Court June 10.
MacIntyre is asking for close to $500,000 to cover what was left of his five-year contract, as well as general and punitive damages and a public apology.
