More than a million dollars is being pumped into the Canso area.
Provincial and federal officials have announced more than $1.2 million in funding for Canso Seafoods Ltd.
The money, which comes from the joint federal-provincial Atlantic Fisheries Fund, will be used to provide innovative equipment for new product lines.
Federal officials announced a repayable contribution of $900,000 for Canso Seafoods in October.
That funding, which came from ACOA‘s Regional Economic Growth through Innovation program, was for facility upgrades and new equipment, including a new extension building to the existing manufacturing plant and the addition of a custom-made steam cooker and high-efficiency freezer.
