Halifax police issue $22,000 in tickets at large gathering

Twenty-two people have been fined after attending a house party in Halifax.

Halifax Regional Police responded to the call at a home on Jubilee Road at 1 a.m. Saturday.

Police say the gathering exceeded the provincially mandated gathering limits.

Currently in Halifax, the maximum gathering limit is five.

Officers issued four summary offence tickets and 22 tickets for violating the Health Protection Act which carries a fine of $1000.
