Injured groundhog gets help from Truro police

The Truro Police Service has made a new furry friend.

Police say they got a call Wednesday evening that a groundhog was injured on Queen Street.

With the help of a member of the public, they put the groundhog in a box, and Hope for Wildlife took it to their rehabilitation facility for treatment, according to a social media post from police.

Thursday afternoon, police say the groundhog is doing well.

“Truro Police Service would like to thank the member of the public and Hope for Wildlife for their assistance in ensuring the animal received the care it needed.”
