Local emergency department closing for two days

A local emergency department will shut down for a couple of days.

Nova Scotia Health Authority officials say the ER at the Strait Richmond Hospital in Evanston will be closed Thursday and Friday.

They say it will re-open at 8 a.m. Saturday.

Health authority officials say physician unavailability to cover the shift is the reason for the closure.

You’re asked to go to another ER or call 911 with a medical emergency; you can call 811 for any non-urgent issues.
