An Antigonish lawyer will face charges of professional misconduct and incompetence by the Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society under their Code of Professional Conduct and the Legal Profession Act in October.
Adam Rodgers shuttered his firm in 2018 after his former partner Jason Boudrot was charged for misappropriating money from clients’ trust funds.
Rodgers’s hearing will investigate accusations he didn’t take steps to ensure his firm’s financial dealings were above board and didn’t properly oversee the operations of the firm; inaction which ultimately allowed Boudrot to finically exploit their shared clients.
It’s set to take place Oct. 5-6.
