The StFX men’s hockey team hosts Acadia in AUS action.
The X-Men (6-5-2), winners of two of their last three, are fifth in the seven-team conference with 14 points, a point behind Moncton for fourth, and three points ahead of sixth-place UPEI; the Axemen (9-3-0) are tied with UNB for top spot with 18 points.
Acadia has won the first two games in the five-game season series.

They host the Pictou Co. Scotians.
The Pirates (8-3-3), with one win in their last four, are third in the six-team Sid Rowe Division with 19 points, two points behind Antigonish for second, and 10 points ahead of the fourth-place Scotians (4-8-1), who have nine points.
The teams have met once so far in their four-game season series- the Pirates beat Pictou Co. 5-3 in Trenton Sunday night.

The Cape Breton West Islanders (0-1-0), who lost their opening game in the major midget division to Newfoundland’s Tri-Pen Osprey Thursday, face the
Rothesay Netherwood School (0-1-0) from New Brunswick at 1:45 p.m.
The Islanders play their third and final preliminary round game against PEI’s Kensington Wild Saturday morning.
The Cabot Highlanders (1-0-0), coming off a win in their first game in the minor midget division against the Valley Wildcats Thursday, take on the Kings (1-0-0) at 10:30 a.m.
Their third and final preliminary round games is against the Pennecon Eastern Flyers from Newfoundland at 9 p.m.
The Novas (2-0-0), who won their first two games against PEI’s Prince Co. Warriors and the Port City Sharks from Saint John Thursday, meet the Cougars (0-1-0) in their third and final preliminary round game at 4:15 p.m.
Both of the province’s Quebec Major Junior Hockey League teams are on the road.
The Halifax Mooseheads visit the Val-d’Or Foreurs at 8 p.m.
The Mooseheads (10-10-1), who have won back-to-back games, are eighth in the 10-team Eastern Conference with 21 points, a point behind Baie-Comeau for seventh, and four points ahead of ninth-place Saint John; the Foreurs (11-9-2) are second in the eight-team Western Conference with 24 points.
It’s the final game in the two-game season series between the teams- Halifax won the first 6-2 at home in October.
The Mooseheads wrap up their three-game Quebec road trip with a game against Beaver Meadow’s Ryan MacLellan and Rouyn-Noranda Saturday night.
The Cape Breton Eagles, playing their second of three road games in as many nights after a loss against league-leading Sherbrooke Thursday night, square off with the Shawinigan Cataractes at 8:30 p.m.
The Eagles (13-7-1), who have lost four of their last five, are tied with Charlottetown for fourth in the East with 27 points, a point behind Rimouski for third, and four points ahead of sixth-place Quebec; the Cataractes (9-11-0) are sixth in the West with 18 points.
It’s the first of two regular season games between the teams- they meet again in Sydney Nov. 28.
Cape Breton plays the third and final game of their road trip through Quebec when they visit Victoriaville Saturday night.
