The province’s two Quebec Major Junior Hockey League teams are on the road.
The Cape Breton Eagles travel to PEI to play the Charlottetown Islanders at 7:30 p.m.
The Eagles (24-14-3), winners of seven of their last eight, are tied with the Islanders (23-16-5) for fourth in the 10-team Eastern Conference with 51 points, two points behind Rimouski for third, and eight points ahead of Saint John and Baie-Comeau, the two teams tied for sixth.
The Maritimes Division teams, who have split the first four games in their nine-game season series, meet again in Charlottetown Saturday night.
The Halifax Mooseheads visit the Victoriaville Tigres at 8 p.m.
The Mooseheads (16-21-3), losers of back-to-back games and eight of their last nine, are ninth in the East with 35 points, a point behind Quebec for eighth, and 14 points ahead of last-place Acadie-Bathurst; the Tigres (14-20-8) are seventh in the eight-team Western Conference with 36 points.
It’s the first game in the two-game season series between the teams.
Halifax is in Sherbrooke Saturday and Gatineau Sunday.
The StFX track and field teams are in Halifax for their latest competition.
The X-Men and X-Women are taking part in the Athletics NS Meet.
The event wraps up Saturday.
