The StFX hockey teams are on the ice for AUS action.
The X-Men, coming off a loss against UNB in Fredericton Friday night, meet the Moncton Blue Eagles.
The teams have met once so far in their five-game season series- StFX won 6-1 in Antigonish Oct. 5.
The X-Women, who lost against UPEI at home Friday night, host the UNB Varsity Reds at the Keating Centre.
It’s the first of four regular season games between the teams.
Both games get underway at 7 p.m.
The Cape Breton West Islanders are on the road for a pair of weekend games in the Nova Scotia Major Midget Hockey League.
They visit the Cole Harbour Wolfpack.
The Islanders (2-6-0), who have lost four straight and five of their last six, are seventh in the eight-team league with four points, two points behind Pictou Co. for sixth, and three points ahead of last-place Sydney; the Wolfpack (8-2-1) are second with 17 points.
Cole Harbour won the first two games in the season series between the teams in Port Hood Oct. 12-13.
Game time is 7 p.m.
Cape Breton West visits Dartmouth Sunday afternoon.
Both local teams in the Nova Scotia Female Midget AAA Hockey League play the first of back-to-back games in New Brunswick.
The Northern Selects are in Moncton to the EDZA East Rockets at 12 p.m.
The Selects (6-0-0), who are undefeated through their first six games of the season, sit in top spot in the seven-team league with 12 points, two points up on second-place Halifax; the Rockets (1-4-1) are tied with Fundy for sixth with three points.
The Selects won the first two games in the four-game season series between the teams in New Glasgow in September.
The Panthers play the EDZA West Reds in Fredericton at 5:30 p.m. in the first of four games between the teams in the 2019-20 season.
The Panthers (2-2-2), undefeated in three straight, are tied with the Peguins for third with six points, four points behind Halifax for second, and two points ahead of the fifth-place Reds (2-6-0)
The same four teams square off again Sunday afternoon.
The Cabot Highlanders take on the Armada to kick off their weekend on the road in the Nova Scotia Minor Minor AAA Hockey League.
The Highlanders (3-3-1), who have won back-to-back games and three of their last four, are tied with the Kings for fifth in the eight-team league with seven points, three points behind the two teams tied for third, and three points ahead of sixth-place Fundy; the Armada (5-2-1) are second with 11 points.
The teams have split the first two games in their five-game season series.
Game time is 5:30 p.m.
The Highlanders travel to Sackville to face the Kings Sunday morning.
The Novas visit Pictou Co. in the Nova Scotia Major Bantam Hockey League.
The Novas (4-2-0), winners of three of their last four, are in a three-way tie with Halifax and Kings for third in the 12-team league with eight points, two points behind the Rangers for second, and a point ahead of sixth-place Truro; Pictou Co. (2-3-1) is tied for ninth with five points.
It’s the first game of the season between the teams.
Puck drop at the Pictou Co. Wellness Centre is 5 p.m.
The Novas return home to host the Cougars in Antigonish Sunday afternoon.
There are a pair of games in the Antigonish Rural League.
The Pleasantdale Panthers play the St. Croix Angels at 7 p.m.; the County Outlaws take on the Heatherton Warriors at 8:45 p.m.
Both games are at the Antigonish Arena.
The province’s two Quebec Major Junior Hockey League teams wrap up their home-and-home series.
The Halifax Mooseheads host the Cape Breton Eagles; the Eagles won the first half of the home-and-home series, and the first game in the nine-game season series between the provincial rivals, in Sydney Friday night.
