The Halifax Mooseheads host the Saint John Sea Dogs in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.
The Mooseheads (3-4-0), winners of three of their last four, and Sea Dogs (3-4-0) are tied with Baie-Comeau for seventh in the 10-team Eastern Conference with six points, three points behind Chicoutimi for sixth, and five points ahead of last-place Acadie-Bathurst.
The Maritimes Division opponents have met once in their eight-game season series so far; Saint John won the 2019-20 season opener between the teams 4-3 at home in September.
Puck drop at Scotiabank Centre is 7 p.m.
Halifax is playing the first of back-to-back games; they visit Pleasant Valley’s Jacob Hudson, Antigonish’s Jake and Sean Stewart and Moncton Friday night.
The StFX soccer teams are in New Brunswick for AUS action.
They meet the Moncton Blue Eagles.
The X-Men (6-1-1), who are undefeated in six straight, are second in the 10-team conference with 19 points, three points behind Cape Breton for top spot, and two points ahead of third-place UNB; the Blue Eagles (2-4-1) are tied with Acadia for eighth with seven points.
The X-Women (5-0-3), undefeated to start the 2019 season, are third in their 10-team conference with 18 points, three points behind Cape Breton for second, and two points ahead of fourth-place Dalhousie; the Blue Eagles (2-3-2) are seventh with eight points.
It’s the second and final regular season games between the teams; StFX shutout Moncton 3-0 in men’s action in Antigonish in September, while the women’s teams played to a scoreless tie the same day.
The women start at 5 p.m.; the men get underway at 7:15 p.m.
