Local sports preview (Tuesday)

It’s a quiet night on the local sports schedule.

There’s just one game; it’s in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.

The Halifax Mooseheads host the Charlottetown Islanders.

The Mooseheads (16-4-1), who have won back-to-back games and three of the last four, are fourth in the 18-team league with 33 points, two points ahead of fifth-place Drummondville; they’re ranked fourth in the country.

The Islanders (14-7-1) are sixth in the league with 29 points.

Halifax has won the first two games in the nine-game season series between the Maritimes Division teams.

Puck drop at Scotiabank Centre is 7 p.m.
