There’s one game on the local sports schedule.
The Dr. J.H. Gillis Royals travel to Truro to take on the CEC Cougars in the opening game of their best-of-three regional semi-final playoff series.
The Cougars (13-2-1), who finished first in the five-team Northern Nova Scotia High School Hockey League with 38 points, lost in the league championship game Saturday night; the Royals (3-11-1), last in the league in the regular season with 10 points, finished third in the league playoffs.
CEC, who swept the four-game season series between the teams, edged Dr. J.H. Gillis 3-2 in double overtime in the league semi-finals Friday night.
Game time is 6 p.m.
The winner will have a chance to advance to the regional final when the series shifts to Antigonish for game two Friday.
