The two local teams in the Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League host their final home games of the 2019-20 regular season.
The Antigonish Bulldogs play the East Hants Penguins at the Antigonish Arena at 7 p.m.
The Bulldogs (23-5-1) have won nine of their last 10 to sit second in the six-team Sid Rowe Division- and the entire 12-team league- with 47 points, a point back of the Miners for top spot; the Penguins (21-8-1) are tied with Sackville for first in the six-team Fred Fox Division with 43 points.
It’s the second and final regular season game between the teams; Antigonish won the first 6-4 in East Hants in October.
The Strait Pirates host the Cumberland Co. Blues at the Port Hawkesbury Civic Centre at 7:30 p.m.
The Pirates (17-9-4), who are winless in back-to-back games and five of the last six, are third in the Sid Rowe Division with 38 points, nine points behind Antigonish for second, and 15 points ahead of fourth-place Eskasoni; the Blues (5-21-2) are last in the division with 12 points.
The teams have split the first two games in their four-game season series.
It’s the first half of a home-and-home series; the Pirates and Blues square off again in Springhill Friday night.
The Dalbrae Dragons have a chance to advance to the Cape Breton West High School Hockey League final when they visit the Richmond Academy Hurricanes.
The Dragons won the opening game in the best-of-three, league semi-final 8-1 in Port Hood Monday night.
A Dalbrae win sends them to the league final against the winner of the SAERC-Eskasoni series, which SAERC leads 1-0 after a win in that series opener Monday night; a Richmond Academy win forces a third and deciding game in Port Hood Feb. 24.
Puck drop at the Richmond Arena in Louisdale is 7:30 p.m.
