Cape Breton has won seven of the first eight games in the nine-game season series.

The Halifax Mooseheads open a three-game homestand to close out the regular season when they host Pleasant Valley’s Jacob Hudson, Antigonish’s Jake and Sean Stewart and the Moncton Wildcats at Scotiabank Centre.

The Mooseheads (47-15-3), winners of two of their last three, are fourth with 97 points, a point behind Baie-Comeau for third, and are ranked sixth in the country; the Wildcats (36-20-9) are seventh with 81 points.

It’s the ninth and final regular season game between the Maritimes Division rivals; Halifax has a 6-2 lead through the first eight.
