The StFX men’s hockey team is on the road for AUS action.
The X-Men are in Halifax to take on the Dalhousie Tigers.
StFX (6-8-2), losers of three straight and four of the last five, sits fifth in the seven-team conference with 14 points, four points behind Saint Mary’s for fourth, and a point ahead of sixth-place UPEI; Dalhousie (3-11-2) is last with eight points.
It’s the third game in the five-game season series; the X-Men have won the first two.
Game time is 7 p.m.
The Doctor J.H. Gillis Royals host the Northumberland Night Hawks in the Northern Nova Scotia High School Hockey League.
It’s a match-up of the top two teams in the five-team league- the Royals (3-1-0), with wins in three of their first four regular season games, are second with nine points, four points back of the Night Hawks (5-0-0), who have a perfect record, for top spot.
The teams have met once so far- Northumberland won 6-0 in Westville in October.
Puck drop at the Antigonish Arena is 6:30 p.m.
There’s one game in the Cape Breton West High School Hockey League.
The SAERC Saints visit the Eskasoni Warriors.
The Saints (4-1-0), with four wins in their first five league games to open the 2019-20 season, are second in the five-team league with 11 points, a point behind Richmond Academy for top spot, and two points ahead of third-place Dalbrae; the Warriors (1-2-1), who have one win in their first four, are fourth with four points, five points behind Dalbrae for third, and four points ahead of last-place Inverness-Baddeck Academy.
It’s the second game in the four-game season series- SAERC won 6-1 in Port Hawkesbury Nov. 17.
Game time is 7 p.m.
The Cape Breton Eagles have a Maritimes Division match-up in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.
They host the Saint John Sea Dogs.
The Eagles (15-9-1), who have won two of their last three, are fifth in the 10-team Eastern Conference with 31 points, a point behind Charlottetown for fourth, and four points ahead of sixth-place Baie-Comeau; the Sea Dogs (10-15-1) are ninth with 21 points.
Cape Breton has won the first two games in the nine-game season series between the teams.
Puck drop at Centre 200 in Sydney is 7 p.m.
It’s the first of two home games in as many nights for the Eagles, who host Shawinigan Thursday.

The winner of the qualifying match advances to NSSAF Div. 1 provincials in Sydney Dec. 6-7.
