Officials with the provincial government have awarded scholarships to a pair of local students.
The Nova Scotia Energy and Mines Scholarship Program, which supports students pursuing energy and mining-related studies at post-secondary institutions in the province, has 20 recipients this time around.
They include Keisha Gillis, a student from Inverness Education Centre enrolled in the Bachelor of Science program at StFX, and Liam Krieger of Baddeck Academy, who is enrolled in Acadia’s engineering program.
Both will receive a renewable scholarship of $10,000- $2,500 per year for four years.
