MacKay announces leadership bid

Peter MacKay has announced he will run for the leadership of the Conservative Party of Canada.

The New Glasgow native, former Central Nova MP, and former Deputy Leader of the Conservative Party made the announcement on Twitter Wednesday.

“I’m in. Stay tuned,” MacKay said.

The nomination period for the Conservative leadership race closes on Feb. 27, with the vote Jun. 27 in Toronto.
