Major changes coming to Port Hood wharf

A weather-beaten wharf in Port Hood is going to see some major changes.

After Thursday’s regular Inverness Co. council meeting, CAO Keith MacDonald said the old government wharf has suffered considerable weather and tidal damage.

MacDonald told The Hawk parts will have to be dismantled.

“The T-section that was at the end of the wharf is in a non-repairable state,” he said.

Macdonald said they’re going to preserve the breakwater and I-section to keep it safe for swimmers.

He said they’re looking to complete a design by the end of February, then get public input, and will post a request for tenders after that.
