Man charged after ambulance stolen from Cape Breton Regional Hospital

A Cape Breton man is facing charges after allegedly stealing an ambulance from Cape Breton Regional Hospital.

It was just after 11pm Monday night, when the EHS vehicle was stolen, vacant at the time, and driven onto Frenchvale Rd.

The driver continued to speed past officers until police eventually found the ambulance in water near the woods off Claude Rd.

With the help of a K9 unit, police found the 33-year-old suspect in the woods and arrested him.

He is charged with:

Assault with a Weapon x2, Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose, Uttering Threats, Theft of a Motor Vehicle, Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Flight From Police and 5 Breaches of Probation.
