The mayor of Port Hawkesbury says they’re working to convince a pair of Ontario doctors to settle in the Quad Counties.
Councillors heard of the two locum physicians- Dr. Edward Pilon and Dr. Adam Kading- Dr. Pilon has expressed a real interest in moving to the province during December’s regular town council meeting Tuesday night.
After the meeting, Brenda Chisholm-Beaton, the town’s mayor, said it’s up to local doctor recruitment officials to convince them the region is the best place to live in the province.
“The onus is now on us to provide a top-quality experience so that when he does make that decision, he will think of us first.”
Chisholm-Beaton said it’s important to make a good first impression, because first impressions are the longest lasting.
“We’re trying our best to go above and beyond to ensure that these two locum visitors do have a great experience,” she said. “When they do make that final decision to relocate and to lay down roots for a new home, we hope that home will be here in the Strait.”
Chisholm-Beaton said they will make sure the doctors have all the information they need, and will try to meet as many of their needs as possible.
