Officials with the provincial government say they’re making investments to improve cultural and community facilities.
They announced $910,000 in funding for 36 projects through their Community Facilities Improvement Program Friday.
Five projects are in the Quad Counties.
The Grand River Volunteer Fire Department in Richmond Co. is getting $40,000 for heating upgrades, flooring renovations, and washroom and plumbing upgrades.
Officials with the Potlotek First Nation in Richmond Co. are in line for $35,000 toward kitchen upgrades.
There’s $25,000 for the Meat Cove Development and CAP Association in Inverness Co. for roofing replacement, foundation upgrades, insulation, and a vapour barrier.
Reps with the Isle Madame Historical Society in Richmond Co. will receive $20,000 for window replacement and siding repairs.
Members of the Greenfield Oldsters Association in Aspen, Guysborough Co. have $8,900 for upgrades to their ceiling insulation, front entrance and kitchen.
