Mike Kelloway Makes a Speech on Diabetes Awareness

November is Diabetes Awareness Month and Cape Breton-Canso MP Mike Kelloway made a statement on the disease in the House of Commons last week.

He hopes the federal government’s diabetes framework will help improve the lives of people in Canada living with the illness.

Three million people in Canada have diabetes including Jacob Ellsworth a boy that lives in Cape Breton Canso.

Kelloway says Jacob and his family cope with hurdles everyday that no child should have to worry about.

He ended his statement by saying Jacob is an advocate and inspiration who has diabetes, but it doesn’t have him.
